In this presentation, we explore the record of amateur radio tower safety in the United States. We look into the details of the 14 fatal amateur radio tower incidents that have occurred since 2003. Root causes are identified and simple solutions that can dramatically reduce safety risks are provided. This was presented at NEAR-Fest in Deerfield, NH on October 11, 2019.
